Firewood Permits

There are several types of firewood (aka fuelwood) permits. You may cut firewood year-round on the Lincoln National Forest.

Areas often change due to the availability of wood, weather, and other reasons, so always check before you head out to the forest.

Call your local ranger district for the most current information.

  • Permits expire at the end of each calendar year (Dec. 31)
  • Firewood may not be gathered within wilderness areas
  • Sorry, no refunds once a permit is purchased
