View from the Duck Lake trailReds Meadow Road is closed in winter. In normal snow years you can expect the road to be open from July 4th through the end of October.

Reds Meadow Fee Area : Places to explore include Agnew Meadows, Devils Postpile, Reds Meadow and Rainbow Falls. During summer, fees are collected to support a shuttle bus system that transports visitors into Reds Meadow Valley.

Permits are required year round for all overnight wilderness travel, even in winter. Permits for trips starting May 1st through November 1st can be reserved on www.recreation.gov
