Visibility Visitors to the National Forests and Grasslands may experience vistas impacted from air pollution. The ARM program works to protect wilderness visibility across the nation. Learn more about Scott Copeland and other staff members who work to monitor air pollution and visibility impacts.

Smoke Every summer wildfire smoke is an issue. Our program works to address this issue and educate the public on exposure avoidance. Learn more about Trent Procter and communication about smoke and Andrea Nick teaching children about wildfire smoke and protecting their health. In addition, our staff work to limit smoke impacts from prescribed fires intentionally lit to improve ecosystem conditions and reduce wildfire risk.
