West Seelye campground is open on a temporary basis from 5/9/25-5/26/25 due to a need for overflow camping in the Cut Foot area. Fee is $10/night, paid by fee envelope with cash or check. Senior passes get half-price rate.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has confirmed Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Cass County for the first time, in a cluster of ash trees near Remer. There are now 45 counties in the state, including Cass, with EAB.

While recreational cannabis use may be legal in the State of Minnesota, effective August 1, 2023, the Chippewa and Superior National Forests officials are reminding visitors that it is illegal on National Forest System lands.
