Great Basin bristlecone pine (Pinus longaeva)
Great Basin bristlecone pine is most famous for being extremely long - lived; it has been known to live almost 5,000 years.
These pines are remarkable for their ability to survive extremely adverse growing conditions on mountain tops and ridges. It is the State Tree of Nevada.
