South Shore Picnic Area (Diamond Lake)


Area Status: Closed

This popular picnic area is next to the South Shore Boat Ramp and Broken Arrow Campground. The covered picnic area has a large number of picnic table and a sideboard with sink on one end. A children’s play area is within site of the picnic tables with a restroom just a short walk on a paved trail. Water is available across the parking lot. An added enticement is the lake’s shore within a short walk.

General Information

Directions:

Located 80 miles east of Roseburg.

From Roseburg, OR, take OR-138 E / NE Diamond Lake Boulevard. Continue on Highway 138, turn right onto Forest Road 4795 (Diamond Lake Loop) at the north entrance to Diamond Lake Recreation Area. Proceed 3.2 miles and turn right at the South Shore. Go 0.5 mile to the South Shore Boat Ramp entrance on the right.

The site may also be accessed via Highway 230 from Medford, OR, or Highway 97 from Klamath Falls, OR and Bend, OR.
