Trocadero Trail

The Trocadero Trail follows an old roadbed for the majority of its length. A bridge crosses Beaver Creek, then the trail heads through a wetland area before reaching the natural ford at Snipe Creek. The Trocadero Trail continues for another half mile to the Trocadero Bay area. Special Features: The Trocadero Trail was originally constructed as a Youth Conservation Corps project during the mid-1980's. It leads hikers through a low-lying area heavily influenced by beaver activity. The trail is surrounded by skunk cabbage and alder trees. Wildlife viewing is a common activity in this area. Beaver, Snipe and Cable Creeks all have prolific runs of salmon during late summer and fall. This in turn attracts abundant wildlife including bears, eagles and sea gulls. There are also a few salmon lifecycle interpretive signs dotted along the trail. An additional attraction in the area is the Cable Creek Fish Pass.
