Parson's Mountain Lake and Tower Trails

Visitors looking for a more relaxing experience can walk the Lake trail stealing glimpses of dogwood, wild ginger, sparkleberry and red bud as they trace the shore of the lake. Those seeking more of a challenge can hike the Tower trail that will take you pass Civil War era gold mines to the historic fire tower that sits atop the 800-foot “monadnock,” a mound of rock left when all the surrounding land erodes away.
