Lick Fork Lake Recreation Area

Lick Fork Lake pier

Highlights include an accessible fishing pier and a boat ramp for non-motorized boats. The Lick Fork Lake Hiking Trail is an easy two mile loop surrounding the lake that provides scenic view of piedmont pines and hardwoods. Horn Creek Trail journeys away from the recreation area and allows hikers and bikers to explore more of the forest.

Current Conditions: Lick Fork Lake Recreation Area is now open year-round. New vault toilet is available in the campground. Water is available. If you have any questions please contact the Long Cane Ranger District at (803) 624-9471.
Fees: $3 day use fee per vehicle, $7 per campsite per night, Self-serve fee station, Campsites are first come-first serve
Permit Info: A valid South Carolina fishing license is required to fish on the national forests. The U.S. Forest Service does not issue any licenses or permits for hunting or fishing. Please visit the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Web site for license and regulations information.
Open Season: All year
Restrictions: Stay is limited to 14 days. Shooting is not permitted within 300-yards of the recreation area. South Carolina fishing and boating regulations apply. Check out www.dnr.sc.gov.

General Information

Directions:

From the square in downtown Edgefield, travel south on Hwy 23 for 8.3 miles. Bear left onto Hwy 230 and travel for .4 miles. Turn left onto Lick Fork Lake Road (S 19-263), and travel 1.9 miles. Entrance is on right.


General Notes:

A porta-toilet is available as well as the restrooms in the campground area.
