Texas Creek Trail #1350
Texas Creek Trail #1350 is a 3.1 mile moderately difficult non-motorized/non-mechanized trail in the Sangre De Cristo Wilderness. The trail can be accessed from the Gibson Creek Trailhead heading north on the Rainbow Trail #1336 for 1 mile, pass the Lake of the Clouds Trail #1349 and continue traveling north for another mile to reach the Texas Creek Trail.
The Sangre De Cristo Wilderness was established in 1993 to preserve its quality, character, and integrity. This area is intended to be a place where the imprint of humans is substantially unnoticed; where natural processes are the primary influences, and human activity is limited to primitive recreation and minimum tools. General Information
Directions:Access via Gibson Creek Trailhead: From Westcliffe; follow Highway 69 north to CR #170, follow this dirt road about 5 miles and turn left at the Forest Service sign for Gibson Ck.. Take a right at the next sign and you’ll be on CR #172, follow this to the end of the road (about 3 miles) to get to the Gibson Creek parking area. The access trail to the Rainbow Trail #1336 is on the north end of the parking area and goes west about 200 yards until it meets with the Rainbow Trail. The Texas Creek Trail is about 2 miles north of the trailhead.
