Rampart Reservoir Recreation Area
The area is located 4.2 miles east of Woodland Park on Rampart Range Road (Forest Service Road 300). Swimming, wading, and all body contact with the water in the reservoir is prohibited. Coast guard approved life jackets are required onboard for every person on every watercraft, including kayaks, paddleboards and canoes.
**Be advised that the road is a rough, rutted, washboard, native surface road and the posted speed limit is 20 mph. Hauling boat or camper trailers can make this drive especially difficult and slow.

| Operational Hours: | From late May to early October, all trailered and motorized watercraft are only allowed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays when Colorado Parks and Wildlife is performing aquatic nuisance species inspections. | Restrictions: | Fishing is prohibited from the dam. No water craft allowed within 500 feet of the dam and spillway structure. Jet skis, inflatable rafts, inner tubes or inflatable pool float devices are prohibited. No rental type “vans” (U-Haul, Ryder, etc.), recreational vehicles (Class A, C, Fifth Wheels, Travel Trailers or Cab-over campers) will be allowed to cross the dam. No boats over 23 feet will be allowed to cross the dam. No vehicles are allowed to stop on the dam. No camping except in designated campgrounds: Meadow Ridge and Thunder Ridge. Fires are allowed only in metal fire grates provided by the Forest Service in designated campgrounds and picnic areas. |
