Metate Trailhead


Provides access to trails in the Granite Mountain Wilderness, as well as trails in the Granite Basin Recreation Area.

Note: This site closes following especially heavy snow and when the roads are too icy.  If you plan to visit and want to make sure it is open, please contact the Bradshaw Ranger Station: 928-443-8000.  For more information when the office is closed, please check the right-hand column under "Alerts and Warnings" to see if there are current conditions reported for this recreation site.

General Information

Directions:

From the corner of Iron Springs Rd. and Williamson Valley Rd in Prescott, AZ: Northwest on Iron Springs approximately 3 miles. Right on Granite Basin Rd. Follow road approximately 3.8 miles. Metate Trailhead is on the left.

  • There are 35 parking spots.
