Womble Trail

The Womble Trail stretches over 37 miles from Northfork Lake to the Ouachita National Recreation Trail. This trail is considered one of the best single track trails in this area. Short segments of the trail meander along the bluffs of the Ouachita River providing breathtaking views. Hikers and mountain bikers can combine the Roundtop Trail with the Womble and Ouachita National Recreation Trail (west of Highway 27) to form an 8-mile loop.

Directions:

There are four trailhead parking areas: Round Top Trail on Forest Road D75A, Highway 27 south of the bridge crossing Lake Ouachita, North Fork Lake and Highway 298 trail intersection.

The trail is also accessible from the three float camps and adjacent forest roads.

Activities

Mountain Biking

The trail is a total of 37.8 miles long and takes about 2 to 4 days travel one-way.  The trail is unsurfaced and marked with white triangles.

In some areas the trail travels near the bluffs along the river.  Use extra caution in these areas.

Fees: No fee.

Day Hiking
