River and Stream Fishing

Day Hiking

This small campground offers great day hiking opportunities into several lakes in the Trinity Alps and Russian Wildernesses. Access to the Pacific Crest Trail is nearby for longer day trips. No wilderness permit is required for day hikes.

Fire Information	A current California Campfire Permit is required to use a camp stove, barbecue or have a campfire outside the developed campground. Local fire restrictions supersede the campfire permit. Inquire at the Ranger Station before having a fire.

Backpacking

Just south of Trail Creek Campground on the Forest Service Road is Fish Lake Trailhead. Trails from here take you south along Fish Lake Creek to Fish Lake and points south deep into Trinity Alps Wilderness. Wilderness permits are required for overnight trips into Trinity Alps Wilderness.

Viewing Wildlife

A good area for riparian wildlife along the river and forest birding. Some small mammals frequent the campsites.

Winter access to this area is possible and offers opportunities for cross country skiing for all skill levels.
