Campsites are nestled in the sand dunes that can reach heights of 30-feet tall . Over the sand dunes you'll find miles of sand beach. Nature and Wildlife at Lake Michigan Campground
Water birds in the area are fun to watch. In the early morning watch the lake for ducks, like the common merganser and hooded merganser. Shore birds, like the spotted sandpiper, run up and down the beaches.

Directions:From the intersection of US-2 and I-75 drive west 16 miles on US-2 to Lake Michigan Campground.

Campground Camping
There are 35 campsites, cold running water and vault toilets. Many sites are excellent tent sites, located between dunes 20 to 30 feet high. Other sites are suitable for trailers and other recreational vehicles. Two spaces are specially located for the disabled.

This campground is convenient to the North Country National Scenic Trail.
Swimming
When the wind is in the south or southwest, large waves crash onto the sandy shores. Riding these waves can be exciting and a lot of fun for all, but please remember there can be dangerous rip currents when the winds are high. Lifeguards are not present. Children, as well as adults, should be warned and watched carefully. Children should be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times.
