Pete's Lake campground is surrounded by many lakes and offers much in the way of camping, hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, boating, and picnicking. All roads are black topped (perfect for bike riding). The Campground boasts a large Day Use Area with two picnic areas, a swimming beach, and an accessible fishing pier. Link to Campground Map

Reservations: Some of the sites at Pete's Lake are reservable. Reservations for all of our campgrounds are made on our national recreation reservation system. General Information

Directions:

From Munising travel east to the intersection of M-28 and Forest Highway 13. Turn right on H-13 and drive south 10.4 miles to FR 2173. Turn left (east) on FR 2173 and drive 0.4 mile to the campground road. Turn right (south) and drive to Pete's Lake Campground.

Activities

Campground Camping

The campground has 41 sites. All are spacious, forested, and private. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and grill. Vault toilets and drinking water sources are conveniently located throughout the campground. The campground will accommodate the handicapped.

Lake and Pond Fishing

Petes Lake, which is an 190 acre lake offers much in the way of camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, and picnicking. There is an accessible Fishing pier next to the Day Use Area.

Day Hiking

The hiking enthusiast will find this campground an excellent home base for the 9 mile loop of Bruno's Run Hiking/Biking Trail as it winds its way through the lakes of the area and along the Indian River.

Picnicking

There are two picnic areas with tables and grills settled comfortably beneath large shade trees. Each area has a beautiful view of Pete's Lake.

Boating - Motorized

The boat ramp has a large parking lot as well as a turn-around area for safe and easy access to the lake.

Boating - Non-Motorized

Nice lake to kayak or canoe.

Swimming

The 190-acre lake is clean and clear and the swimming area has a beautiful sandy beach. There are restrooms available, as well as a large conveniently located parking lot. Lifeguards are not present. Children should be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times.
