Cane Creek Wildlife Management Area


Area Status: Open

The Cane Creek Wildlife Management Area is cooperatively managed by the U.S. Forest Service and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources to provide sustainable populations of game and nongame wildlife species.

This 6,691-acre area has mostly hilly terrain with vertical sandstones cliffs occurring below the ridge tops. The area is wooded with some scattered grassy openings.

Outside of roads and trails, the wildlife management area has no developed facilities.

The management area boundaries are marked with yellow paint and signs on trees. Private land boundaries are marked with property boundary signs and red paint on trees. 

Public Hunting Area users must abide by the Kentucky hunting, trapping, and fishing regulations. Persons using Public Hunting Areas should become familiar with these regulations. Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources provides these regulations.

Directions:

The wildlife management area is approximately 15 miles west of London, Kentucky.

To reach the southern portion of the wildlife management area, travel 11 miles west on KY 192. Use a map to reach your desired location.

To reach the northern portion of the wildlife management area, travel KY 192 west for approximately 6 miles. Turn right on Cold Hill Road (Forest Service Road 56). Travel 2.7 miles and turn left on Forest Service Road 119 (gravel road). Travel 5.9 miles. The wildlife management area is on the left.
