Wintergreen Trail #480/480A

Wintergreen Trail #480 is located on London Ranger District at Laurel River Lake. This  loop trail begins and ends at the Holly Bay Campground amphitheater. The first 200 yards of the trail are paved. The trail loops around the west side of the amphitheater and follows a small drainage area rich with ferns. The trail then joins the Sheltowee Trace (Section 26) and skirts the edge of the lake below H-loop of the campground. Wintergreen Trail leaves the Sheltowee Trace and returns uphill. A short spur trail #480A returns to the amphitheater parking area.

Holly Bay Campground, a U.S. Fee Area, is located on the west side of Laurel River Lake, about two miles north of Laurel River Dam. Holly Bay Marina is a full-service marina offering rental boats, camping and fishing supplies, fishing licenses, and maps of the lake. 

Laurel River Lake features 5,600 acres of clear, deep water and nearly 200 miles of tree-lined shore. The quiet coves and cliff-lined shores offer relaxation and quiet reflection, as well as boating, fishing, skiing and scuba diving in one of the deepest and cleanest lakes in Kentucky.
