Cabin Flat Trail Camp (Hike-in Campground)

Overview of Site: 

Cabin Flat Campground is open year-round. However, it is hike-in only from early-November to late-April through June due to seasonal closures of Blue Ridge Road (Forest Service Road 3N06). However, the road between Lupine and Cabin Flat is severely overgrown and very hard to follow to get to this campground. No maintenance of facilities will happen until the road reopens.

Cabin Flat Campground is located 12 miles from Inspiration Point.

  • 5,300-feet in elevation
  • Hike-in from Lupine Campground –3 miles; 12 miles from gate, can also mountain-bike or horseback-ride in, as well
  • Trail camp not maintained
  • No water available, treat water from stream before using, if available.
  • Vault toilet
  • Campsites are first-come-first-served.
  • Adventure Pass required for vehicles parked along  the road.
  • Groceries and services available in the community of Wrightwood (approximately 9.5 miles away)

General Information

Directions: From Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy. 2), approximately 1.5 miles west of Big Pines, take Blue Ridge Road 5 miles to Guffy Campground, then walk in another 6 miles to Cabin Flat. The road is a rough dirt road - after the first 5 miles a four-wheel drive is required.
