Owl Creek Horse Camp


Area Status: Open

The Owl Creek Horse Camp provides primitive overnight campsites for trail riders on a first come, first serve basis. The Owl Creek Trail System is approximately 26 miles and suitable for equestrian riding.

Please Respect that this horse campground is designed and constructed specifically for stock camper use and the care of their animals, vehicles, and gear.

If you are camping without stock, please consider going to one of our nearby campgrounds for non-stock users.

Nearby campgrounds are listed below. 

Brushy Lake Campground (Water and Bathrooms): Continue south on FSR 262 for approximately 3 miles

Allred & McDougal Hunt Camps (Primitive): Go west to HWY 33 and then continue south 1 mile for Allred or 4 miles for McDougal

Horse Camping

Owl Creek Horse Camp and Trail System offer nearly 25 miles of trails designed for horseback-riding. The trail system starts on Forest Service Road 262 about 7 miles east of Highway 33. Trail riders may choose from loops of varying lengths. The camp provides primitive overnight campsites for trail riders.
