_variable_descriptions.csv \Data Comma-separated values (CSV) file containing a list and description of variables found in all data files.
FireAttributes.csv \Data CSV file containing basic information about the wildfires sampled (year and forest).
FuelTransects.csv \Data CSV file containing information about planar intercept transects used to measure surface woody fuels at each site. Contains fuel field-based data needed to calculate 1-hour, 10-hour, and 100-hour fuel loads using equations provided by Brown (1974). Calculation of 1000-hour fuel loads requires the transect length from this file along with fuel diameters and decay conditions from the FuelTransectsCoarse.csv file.
FuelTransectsCoarse.csv \Data CSV file containing diameter and decay condition of large-diameter (> 7.6 centimeters) woody fuels encountered on planar intercept fuel transects at each site. These data are used to calculate sound and rotten 1000-hour fuel loads using equations provided by Brown (1974).
PlotAttributes.csv \Data CSV file containing basic information about the sample plot size (radius) used to survey snags at each site.
SiteAttributes.csv \Data CSV file containing information about sampling sites (forest stands); the wildfire, location, and topographic position; pre-fire overstory structure; and post-fire logging.
SnagAttributes.csv \Data CSV file containing information about trees and snags surveyed on primary and secondary (extended) plots at each site. Only data from primary plots should be used to estimate pre-fire stand structure.
SpeciesCodes.csv \Data CSV file containing translations for species codes used in SnagAttributes.csv to Latin binomial or common species names.
