Wolcott Trailhead

This trailhead is part of the Pine Creek System OHV System. The Pine Creek area of the Wayne National Forest provides some excellent opportunities for riding all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and off-highway motorcycles (OHMs).

This trail system provides approximately 20 miles of trails for off-road vehicle, hiking, and mountain bike use.

Current Conditions
The northern portion of Clinton Furnace Road leading to Wolcott Trailhead between Monroe Road and Knapp Road is currently closed at 38°42'32.1" North 82°42'54.5" West while the Scioto County Engineer's office repairs a road slip. Visitors can still access the trailhead by taking Clinton Furnace Road from the south.

General Information

Maps of the Pine Creek Trail System can be found on out OHV Trail Maps page. Maps are also provided when you purchase a trail permit.

  • OHV and mountain bike riding allowed only during open season.
  • Day and night (with lights) access is permitted.
  • Open year-round for hiking.

For OHV riding:

  • OHV Trail Permit required
  • APV Registration required
  • No vehicles greater than 50 inches wide allowed
  • Possession of alcohol is prohibited on the Wayne National Forest per Ohio’s Open Container Law.
  • Helmets and protective eye-wear required.
  • Passengers may ride only if vehicle is designed by manufacturer to carry passengers.

Directions

This trailhead is part of the Pine Creek System.

To find this trailhead:

  • From Ironton, go north on State Route 93. Turn on Highway 522 West; go 3.5 miles to County Road 9, then 3 miles to the trailhead.
