The Crayfish Stewardship Project is located within, T46N-R37W, S. 2, 3, 9-11, Iron County; T47N R37W, S. 34 & 35, Houghton County, Michigan. The Forest Service will receive offers at the Kenton Ranger District office at 2:00 PM local time (ET) on September 3, 2025 for a combination of timber and stewardship service work items associated with the stewardship project. Timber to be cut within the project area includes an estimated 279 CCF Mixed Hardwood sawtimber; 320 CCF Red & White Pine sawtimber; 613 CCF Sugar Maple sawtimber; 1290 CCF Aspen pulpwood; 233 Jack Pine pulpwood; 116 CCF Mixed Conifer pulpwood; 2944 CCF Mixed Hardwood pulpwood; 103 CCF Pine pulpwood that is marked or otherwise designated for cutting. Mandatory service work includes: 78 acres of aspen site preparation. Optional service work includes: 12 acres of wildlife opening maintenance and 0.65 mile of dozer fuel break creation.

A Pre-Offer meeting at the Kenton Ranger District will be scheduled as requested; please RSVP by calling 906-852-3500 no later than August 20, 2025. Stewardship Project specifications will be reviewed and copies of the specifications and Sample Contract will be available.

Offers will be evaluated on a Best Value Basis and offerors must submit a Technical Proposal describing how stewardship service work will be completed, as well as a per Unit Rate Value offer for the timber and per unit rate for completing each stewardship service work item. Offers will not be publicly opened or disclosed. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all offers. A prospectus, offer form, blank technical proposal form, blank past performance form and complete information concerning the timber, the service work required in this contract, and the process to submit offers is available to the public from the Kenton Ranger District office, 4810 East M-28, Kenton, MI, (906) 852-3500, or at http://fs.usda.gov/ottawa.
