Buckaloons Recreation Area

Buckaloons Recreation Area is located along the west bank of the Allegheny Wild and Scenic River, offering a one-lane, concrete boat launch for water access. Buckaloons is a great launch point to explore the Allegheny Islands Wilderness, seven islands stretched between Buckaloons and Tionesta. These islands are popular for dispersed camping, exploration, and viewing scenery and wildlife.

Buckaloons is surrounded by three flowing bodies of water including Irvine Run, Brokenstraw Creek, and the Allegheny River, making abundant opportunities for water activities. In addition to fishing, boating, and canoeing, the Buckaloons Seneca Trail is a one-mile loop around the campground, great for wildlife viewing.
