Caney Ranger District

The Caney Ranger District encompasses over 32,000 acres and is divided into three units; Caney Lakes (north of Minden), Middle Fork (northeast of Homer), and Corney Lake (near Summerfield).

The District encompasses over 32,000 acres and is divided into 3 units: Caney Lakes (north of Minden), Middle Fork (northeast of Homer), and Corney Lake (near Summerfield).

The District administers 2 developed recreation areas:  Caney Lakes and Corney Lake. 

The Caney District has become a popular area for various hunting and fishing opportunities because of its close proximity to Minden, Shreveport, Ruston, and the Monroe areas. 

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Closed all Federal holidays. For Permits and Passes, please call ahead for an appointment. Phone: (318) 927-2061 or (318) 927-2062.

Kisatchie National Forest day-use and trail-use passes may be purchased at the office. American the Beautiful interagency passes may also be issued during office hours, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. M-F. For Permits and Passes, please call ahead for an appointment. Phone: (318) 927-2061 or (318) 927-2062.
