Mount Rogers National Recreation Area: Increased Traffic Along US Hwy 58 East of Beartree Gap Rd

Timber harvest and hauling activities associated with the Straight Mountain Timber Sale in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area will impact roadways in and around the sale area. 

East of Beartree Gap Rd, US Hwy 58 will experience increased traffic to allow logging vehicles and large equipment access to the sale site. The public is cautioned to heed all signage around the sale site and exercise due caution along roadways. 

Straight Mountain Trail (FST 4554) will be closed to the public for the duration of sale activity.
