Lake Charles

Expect full recreation sites during weekends. Have backup plans. Sites may close when capacity is reached.

Situated in the western Ocala National Forest, Lake Charles is south of CR 314-A, east of CR-314, and north of SR 40 at Lynne, in the same floodplain as Redwater Lake.

Boating and Fishing

The lake has an unimproved boat ramp that makes this location an ideal spot for launching your boat just for fun or for fishing.

Nature Viewing

Wildlife is abundant at Lake Charles. Sandhill cranes and wading birds are commonly spotted in the area around the lake.
