Chain of Lakes
The Chain of Lakes runs north-south through the prairies and scrub of the Ocala National Forest, lying south of SR 40 and paralleling SR 19 to the west behind Sellers Lake and Beakman Lake. It provides a quiet place for boating and fishing.
Boating -- Motorized and Non-motorized
- The meandering wet prairie nature of the Chain of Lakes makes it an ideal spot for kayaking, canoeing and kayak fishing. A boat ramp also provides access to the lakes.
Nature Viewing
- Wildlife is abundant in the Chain of Lakes. Sandhill cranes and wading birds are commonly spotted in the area around the lakes.
