Prospect Bluff Historic Site Closure Order
Authorities and Geographic Applicability. Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.53(c), this Forest Order: (1) Closes the Prospect Bluff Historic Site in its entirety for the preservation of objects or areas of historical, archaeological, geological, or paleontological interest. The historic site is located on the Apalachicola Ranger District on forest system road 129.
Duration. This Forest Order is effective upon signing until August 12, 2026, unless sooner terminated by an authorized Forest Service official.

A.Authorities and Geographic Applicability. Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.53(c), this Forest Order: (1) Closes the Prospect Bluff Historic Site in its entirety for the preservation of objects or areas of historical, archaeological, geological, or paleontological interest. C.Prohibitions.
1.Occupancy and use. It is prohibited to be within the Prospect Bluff Historic Site. 36 C.F.R.§261.58
2.Map. See Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof, for closed areas, trails, and road segments.
D.Exemptions. Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1.Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2.Any Federal, State or Local Law Enforcement Officer or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
E.Penalties. Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. (16U.S.C. 551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571).
F.Other Prohibitions. These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part261, Subpart A.
