Paint Creek Campground

Looking for a family-oriented campground tucked away in a mountain cove? Paint Creek Campground, located in Greene County along the banks of Paint Creek is the place! Most of the widely-spaced campsites have streamside views and are well screened with native vegetation. While visiting, try your hand at fishing for trout in Paint Creek (seasonally stocked).

CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO IMPENDING WEATHER FROM HELENE.  CLOSURE IS ANTICIPATED THRU MONDAY, SEPT 30, BUT COULD BE LATER DEPENDING ON DAMAGE ASSESSMENT  Please practice Bearwise and make sure to store ALL unattended food and garbage in a hardsided container or vehicle.   2024 Season Dates: May 1 - October 24

  • Group size is 5 people, 2 vehicles per site.
  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the area.
  • Food storage restrictions apply at all areas on the Cherokee National Forest. All food and beverages must be stored in an approved bear-proof container, your locked vehicle or hard-sided camper at all times unless being eaten, prepared, or transported.

Camping is $10 (20 sites)

From Greeneville, take TN 70 south for 11.2 miles, turn fight on Rollins Chapel Road and then follow the signs to Paint Creek.
