Grizzly Peak Trail #3428

The trail to Grizzly Peak follows the Pamelia Lake trail for the first 2.2 miles through an old-growth forest. After 2.2 miles, you will reach the trail junction for Grizzly Peak to the right or Hunts Cove and the Pacific Crest Trail to the left.

The trail climbs over 1,310 feet in the next 2.8 miles providing views of Mount Jefferson, Pamelia Lake, the Three Sisters and Three Fingered Jack. The trail ends at the summit of Grizzly Peak..

Know Before You Go

  • Central Cascades Wilderness Permits are required for both day use and overnight use when using the Pamelia Lake Trailhead.
  • Visitors must practice "Leave No Trace" skills, including properly disposing human and pet waste and packing and carrying out all trash.
  • Campfires are permitted in the area and must be at least 100 feet from any lake, stream or wet area and below 5700' elevation.

Directions

From Detroit, Oregon, travel east on Highway 22 approximately 12.5 miles  to Pamelia Creek Road (Forest Road 2246). Turn left onto Forest Road 2246, travel 5 miles to end of road. Trailhead parking is on the left.
