The trail junctions with Minto Pass Trail and Blue Lake Trail.

The trail takes you through the area of B & B Fire of 2003 into the Eight Lakes Basin area.

$5/vehicle/day or a valid recreation pass. No payment accepted onsite.

Wilderness Permits required for visitors to the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness:

  • Day and Overnight visitors: Central Cascades Wilderness Permit required between Friday of Memorial Day weekend and the last Friday of September; reserve at recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Learn more.
  • Free, unlimited Wilderness self-issue permit required last Saturday of September until October 31 (available at trailhead)


A valid recreation pass may be used as a form of fee payment.

Water from streams should be filtered.

Directions

From Detroit, Oregon travel east on Highway 22 for 16 miles to the town of Marion Forks, Oregon.  Turn left onto Marion Creek Road (Forest Service Road 2255) and travel 5.5 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road.
