Black Creek Trail #3551

The trail begins in a grove of young trees. It enters older trees at Edith Creek and follows Black Creek up a gentle rolling grade to Lillian Falls, a beautiful 100-foot high cascading waterfall in an old growth forest.

From Lillian Falls, the trail switchbacks up a steep grade to a tableland where it crosses Nettie Creek. The trail begins to climb again, traversing a rocky area, which provides a view of Black Creek Canyon and the tablelands.

Vine maple and rhododendron are prolific along this portion of the trail, making for a colorful hike in the fall and spring.

Turning easterly through a notch, the trail crosses another creek before climbing steeply up over the divide and then drops down to the Waldo Lake Trail.
