Kiahanie Campground

This quiet, 19 site, family-friendly camp is located in a lush, mature Douglas-fir/vine maple/sword fern forest alongside the North Fork of the Middle Fork Willamette Wild and Scenic River. The campground sits off Forest Service Road 19 (also known as the Aufderheide Drive), which is a portion of the 220-mile long West Cascades Scenic Byway.

Popular recreational activities in this area include driving the West Cascades Scenic Byway, fishing, and road cycling Aufderheide Drive. Nearby, the North Fork Trail is popular for hiking and mountain cycling.

Please note that special fishing regulations apply to the North Fork of the Middle Fork Willamette River.  Please consult the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for the most up-to-date information.

General Information

May - October

Check in: 2:00 p.m.; Check-out: 12:00 p.m.; Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

Interagency Senior and Access Passes (and the Golden Age and Access Passes) may receive a 50% discount on the use fee for individual campsites. This discount does not apply to extra vehicle fee or multiple campsites.

  • Non street-legal OHV use prohibited in the campground
  • Camping is not allowed more than 14 days in a 60 day period.
  • Check-in time: 2:00 pm or later. Check-out time: 1:00 pm
  • Use of chainsaws in the campground is prohibited
  • Dogs MUST be on leash at all times within the campground

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $14 per night
Additional Vehicle Fee: $6 per vehicle per night

  • Single Campsites - $14 per night (single campsite capacity: 6 persons, 2 vehicles, 2 tents)
  • Extra Vehicles - $6 per vehicle, per night

Campsite must be occupied every night paid, and fees must be paid within 30 minutes of arrival. Download the Recreation.gov mobile app prior to your trip so you can pay the overnight fee onsite with Scan and Pay.

Within developed recreation sites, dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet, or otherwise under physical restrictive control. 36 CFR 261.16(j)

Directions

25 miles northeast of Oakridge, Oregon, along the North Fork of the Middle Fork Wild and Scenic River.

From the intersection of Crestview Street and Oregon State Highway 58 in Oakridge, Oregon (the only traffic light along Highway 58 in Oakridge), travel west on State Highway 58 for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto the Westfir-Oakridge Road and follow for 1.3 miles.  At the junction with the Westfir Road (which crosses a steel truss bridge on your left) continue to the right and drive to the center of the former logging town of Westfir.  At the four-way intersection, continue straight onto Forest Road 19/Aufderheide Drive. Continue approximately 20 miles, and the destination will be on your left.
