Cheat Creek Trailhead

This is in an area impacted by the Beachie Fire. Recent wildfires on the Willamette have increased likelihood of landslides, mudslides, flash floods, and debris flows.

This trailhead provides access to:

  • Cheat Creek Trail #3441
  • Triangulation Trail #3373
  • Crag Trail #3364

General Information

Open 24 hours/day

There are two types of entry permits required between June 15 and October 15 for entering the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness from this trailhead.

  • Overnight Use
  • Day Use
    • Free, self-issue Wilderness Permit (available at the trailhead) between June 15 and October 15.

Directions

From Detroit, Oregon, travel East on Highway 22 for 12 miles to Whitewater Road (Forest Road 2243), turn left and travel for about 3.5 miles. Trailhead is on left.
