Arch Rock Trail #258

Arch Rock is an easy, enjoyable short hike for families and geology lovers. The trail takes visitors to Arch Rock, an ashflow tuff with a scenic arch and several small rockshelters eroded into the outcrop, allowing visitors a place to see fascinating geological features.

Getting There

Directions

From John Day, OR., travel east on US Highway 26 approximately 10 miles to the junction with County Road 18. Turn north onto County Road 18, follow for approximately 10 miles to the junction of Forest Service road 36. Follow Forest Road 36 along Camp Creek the junction with Forest Road 3650. Follow Forest Road 3650 to the junction of Forest Service Road 3650-468 where the trailhead is located.
