Winter Sports

The Malheur National Forest has many opportunities for winter recreation.  From skiing and snowshoeing, to sledding, snowboarding and snowmobiling. 

On the Malheur National Forest there are 4 separate snow parks for snowmobilers, Blue Mountain Sno-Park on Blue Mountain Ranger District, Huddleston Sno-Park on Prairie City Ranger District, Starr Sno-Park on Blue Mountain Ranger District, Idlewild Sno-Park on Emigrant Creek Ranger District.  A Sno-Park permit is required when using these forests Sno-Parks.

There are multiple cross country ski trails and miles upon miles of terrain to snow shoe.  On forest there is one sledding hill with a warming hut, Starr Snow Bowl.
