Wickiup Plains Trailhead
This trailhead is primarily used by equestrians and provides access to Wickiup Plains Trail. The trailhead has a hitching post, a toilet and provides access to the Three Sisters Wilderness.
This trailhead is in the same location as Devils Lake/South Sister Trailhead.
Recreation Fee Site: Parking at this site requires a recreation pass. Passes are available at this site, but can be purchased from Forest Service offices or vendors. Please check here for more information about recreation passes and where they can be purchased.
This trail enters the Three Sisters Wilderness shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness Permits are required for both day use and overnight stays from this trailhead. See "Permit Info" below for more details.
General Information
- Day and Overnight visitors: Central Cascades Wilderness Permit required between June 15 and October 15; reserve at Recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.

- Motorized and mechanical equipment (including bicycles and drones) are prohibited in the Wilderness
- Groups must be under 12 people and 12 head of stock
- Build campfires at least 100 feet away from water
- Pack in / Pack out!
- “Take only pictures, leave only footprints” — please refrain from cutting, damaging, or gathering vegetation or other forest items (e.g. rocks, artifacts, etc.)
- Please bury human waste 6-8 inches deep and at least 200 feet away from water

Directions
From Bend, OR: Travel 28.7 miles west on Cascade Lakes Highway (46). The trailhead is adjacent to Devils Lake.
