Starvation Ridge Trail (#414)

This is a difficult and steep trail, climbing more than 3,000 feet in just 4 miles. The trail junctions with Mitchell Point Trail #417, which leads to Warren Lake, a very nice camping spot for those seeking an overnight trip.

The trail takes off from the Starvation Creek State Park trailhead and heads south, up Starvation Ridge. Much of the trail is in Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness.

Current Conditions
This trail is only accessible via Mt. Defiance Trail Trail #413 as the old cutoff trail (414A) is currently closed.

Getting There

Trailhead/Starting Points

Access trail via Starvation Creek State Park and via Mt. Defiance Trail #413.

Directions

From Portland, OR travel east on Interstate 84 to Starvation Creek exit #56.

From Hood River, OR travel west on Interstate 84 to Wyeth exit #51 (there is no westbound exit #56). Turn left at the end of the off ramp, go under the interstate and turn left again to travel east on Interstate 84 for approximately 5 miles to Starvation Creek exit #56.
