Horsetail Creek Trail (#425)

This 5.6 mile trail runs from Oneonta Trail #424, at a junction 3 miles from the Oneonta Trailhead, to Nesmith Point Road 222. A portion of this trail is in Mark O Hatfield Wilderness.

CAUTION: Oneonta Creek at the bottom of the trail may not be crossable in the winter and spring. Westernmost section is a very steep series of switchbacks. Although it makes a good loop with Bell Creek, do not count on crossing during high water seasons.

Closed east of intersection with Bell Creek. From Oneonta Trail to Bell Creek is open.

Directions

From Portland, OR: Travel east on Interstate 84 to Bridal Veil exit #28. Follow the off ramp to the intersection with the Historic Highway and turn left (east). Travel approximatly 6 miles to the parking area on the south side of the highway.

From Hood River, OR: Travel west on Interstate 84 to Ainsworth exit #35. Travel west on the Historic Highway approximately 1.5 miles to the parking area on its south side.
