Diana Pools/Diana Falls

The hike to Diana Fall and Diana Pool is an easy, mostly flat 1.4 mile (2.25 km) walk to a swimming hole flanked by cliffs and a charming roughly 20-foot waterfall. It’s perfect for swimming from early spring until mid-summer while water flows are relatively high. Leashed dogs are welcome.

Getting There

Directions

From Coulterville, just follow Greeley Hill Road/Bull Creek Road east. The trailhead is located just west of where the road crosses the North Fork of the Merced River. You can also turn south off Highway 120 on Smith Station Road (J20) about 4 miles west of Buck Meadows and then take a sharp left (to the east) when that road intersects with Greeley Hill Road. From that intersection, it’s just a little more than 4 miles to the trailhead.

From there, an easy trail follows the North Fork downstream, passing through woods and open areas, a totally scenic, peaceful stroll.

About a mile and a quarter brings you to Diana Pool, where Bean Creek comes in from the side, flanked by cliffs and creating a lovely swimming hole.
