Deadman Campground

Deadman Campground is situated along the banks of the Stanislaus River, one mile from Highway 108 on the Kennedy Meadow Road. It is about 29 miles east of the Summit Ranger Station. There are a total of 17 camping sites; two walk-in sites. The main road is paved and parking pads are dirt-surfaced. Restrooms are vault toilets. Water is piped to hydrants serving multiple sites. A fee is charged for extra vehicle parking.

Check in: 2:00 p.m.; Check-out: 12:00 p.m.; Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

If you wish to use a stove, grill, or have a campfire it is recommended, but not required, that you get a campfire permit.  This FREE Permit can be obtained at preventwildfiresca.org or at any ranger station. Do not burn plastic or metal. Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. 
The Interagency Senior and Interagency Access Passes are honored and provide a 50 percent discount on camping fees in the campground.  Pass number must be written on fee envelope or Pass must be shown to Host. The Interagency Annual and Volunteer passes do not provide any discounts on camping. Passes are not accepted for group or double sites.

Camp in designated sites only. The number of people allowed in a single campsite is six. The maximum length of stay in any campground is 14 days. Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. Often, locations destroyed by thoughtless campers must be closed to restore the area's natural health. Passes are not accepted for group or double sites.  Kennedy Meadows Resort operates this campground under a special use permit administered by the Forest Service. The fees paid by concessionaires finance the refurbishment of facilities in the campgrounds they operate.
