Meeks Bay Picnic Area

Meeks Bay Picnic Area is located on National Forest lands off Highway 89 on the west shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe and offers a spectacular lakeside picnic area with easy access to the lake for kayaking and swimming. Campfires (wood, charcoal or any other solid fuels) are not permitted. Portable propane stoves with on/off valves or switches are allowed with a valid permit.

Summers are typically warm and dry, though nighttime temperatures can be cold and afternoon thundershowers often build over the mountains. Snow is possible during any month of the year. Be prepared for changeable weather and bring clothing that will keep you warm and dry.
