General Information

  • CAUTION: There are bears in the area. Please keep all foods, soaps, and garbage properly stored in bear boxes.
  • Keep the gate closed or visitors will wander in. Gate combination will be issued when reservations are finalized.
  • Check ahead. Campfires may not be allowed during fire restrictions.

  • Interagency Senior and Access passes are not accepted for group units.
  • Check out time is 1:00 p.m.
  • Camping Fires & Charcoal BB@'s : Are not allowed at this time.  
  • Maximum Stay Limit: 14 days per district per year.

  • $50 - 50 people

  • Keep family pets on a leash at all times.
  • Please cleanup after your pet.

23 miles east of Placerville on Highway 50 and 16 miles north on Ice House Road  (Forest Road 3) on the east side of Union Valley Reservoir.

  • There is no piped water at the campground. Water from the river is available but should be boiled before using. Water quality testing is not performed on open water sources.
