Battle Creek Trail #050

Battle Creek Canyon is a beautiful, yet steep trail that accesses the west face of Mount Timpanogos. The trail passes a popular waterfall, and several smaller cascades as it climbs from Pleasant Grove City. At 1.3 miles, the trail junctions with the Curly Springs Trail #051. The trail then climbs 1.1 miles to join in with the Dry Canyon Trail #049. Battle Creek Canyon was the scene of an Native American battle with settlers during the winter of 1848-49. Vegetation: Common trees include water birch, maple, Douglas fir, spruce, oak, aspen and cottonwood. Wildflowers which might be seen include western coneflower, clematis, penstemon, and balsam root. There is some poison ivy in Battle Creek, and stinging nettle.

Access: From exit #275 from I-15, head northeast on Pleasant Grove Blvd toward 2000 west P G/700 North Lindon for 1.5 mi, turn right onto W State Rd follow for 0.9 mi, turn left onto S 100 E follow for 0.2 mi, take the 2nd right onto E 200 S/E Battle Creek Dr, Destination will be to the right.
