SESSIONS MOUNTAIN 

SPECIAL ORDER OF FOREST SUPERVISOR 

WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST 

Salt Lake Ranger District

Due to wet soil conditions, the following seasonal closure is in effect to protect the Sessions Mountain road during the dates listed below. 

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a) & (b), the following act is prohibited on the road shown on the attached map and described in this order within the Wasatch-Cache National Forest until further notice or between November 1 and June 30 of each year, as the case may be.

1. Using any type of motorized, wheeled vehicle on the Sessions Mountain Road [36 CFR 261.54 (a)].

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following acts, or persons, are exempt from this order:

1. Persons with a permit or contract authorizing the otherwise prohibited act.
2. Authorized Federal, state, or local officers, or members of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of official duty, when authorized by the District Ranger.

Area Described: The Sessions Mountain Road beginning at the intersection with the Ward Canyon Road (Township 2 North, Range 1 East, Section 1 SLBM), and as shown as Road Number 6 on the Salt Lake Ranger District Travel Map/Plan Travel Key.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 or imprisonment of not more than 6 months or both. (16USC 551; 18USC 357l(b) (6)) 

This order supersedes any previous order for the above described area and prohibitions.
