Copes Basin Trailhead
Overview
The Copes Basin Trailhead is located on the Beaver Ranger District, just below Little Reservoir along Kents Lake Road (FR-137). A small parking area is available and can accommodate 2-3 trucks with trailers. The Copes Basin trail (#066) is a 50-inch ATV trail that takes riders around the west face of Birch Creek Mountain. Trail #066 includes portions that are both motorized and non-motorized, riders can expect to see other trail users including foot and horse traffic. Please be courteous and follow trail etiquette and official trail designations.
Facilities
There are no facilities or water available at the trailhead. Vault toilet restrooms are available nearby and can be found further up Kents Lake Road, located within the Little Reservoir Campground.
Natural Features
Trail users will see a variety of vegetation types, from Ponderosa Pine to sagebrush and mahogany. The trail is steep and rocky in some areas which makes it a somewhat difficult trail to travel.
General Information

- No camping is allowed at the trailhead - parking only
- Copes Basin Trail (#066) is limited to OHVs 50-inches or less in width
- All motorized travel is restricted to designated travel routes. Cross country travel, driving around closed gates, width restriction barriers, and driving on meadows is prohibited.
- All OHVs are required to be registered and display a permit or sticker for riding on public lands.
- Clean up dog waste and dispose of it properly.
- Keep dogs from chasing, harassing, and disturbing wildlife, livestock or other visitors.
- Yield to other hikers, horses, and other trail users by stepping off the trail and controlling your dog.

Directions
The Copes Basin Trailhead is located approximately 10 miles east of Beaver, Utah. From Beaver, Utah travel east on Highway 153 for 10 miles. Turn right onto Kents Lake Road (FR-137) and travel another 0.3 miles. The trailhead is located on the left (north) side of the road.

A small dirt parking area is located off the paved portion of Kents Lake Road (FR-137) just below Little Reservoir.
