Forsyth Fire Emergency Area and Trail and Road Closure
A. PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551 and 36 CFR 261.50, the following acts are prohibited in the area described in this Order, located within the Pine Valley Ranger District, Dixie National Forest, which is closed for safety due to wildland fire:
It is prohibited to go into or be upon the area, and trails and roads described below, which are closed for the protection of Public Health and Safety. 36 CFR 261.52(e), 261.55(a).
B. EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following are exempt from this order.
1. Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
C. AREA DESCRIBED
Area Closure: The area closed by this Order is depicted on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit A, which is incorporated herein by reference, and is generally described as:
An area of National Forest System land within the Forsyth Fire perimeter and areas and trails that access the Forsyth Fire on the Pine Valley Ranger District.
Area Closure: Starting at Mill Canyon Trail (31013) and the wilderness boundary, then south easterly along the wilderness boundary to Bark Hollow, then continuing south easterly away from the wilderness boundary to the Pine Valley Recreation area entrance station, then along the boundary of town of Pine Valley/Forest Service and to the Grass Valley road on the south side of the town of Pine Valley, then south along the Forsyth fire scar to the wilderness boundary, then east along the wilderness boundary to the Goat Springs Trail (31016), then south and adjacent to (on the east side of the trail and in the wilderness) the Goat Springs Trail, then along the wilderness boundary until the junction of the wilderness boundary and Syler Spring Trail (31051), then along Syler Spring Trail to the junction of the Anderson Valley Trail (31022), then along the Anderson Valley Trail to the junction of the Summit Trail (31021) and Mill Canyon Trail (31013) and then along the Mill Canyon Trail to the junction of Mill Canyon Trail and the wilderness boundary.
D.PURPOSE
The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety during the Forsyth Fire and post fire containment.
E. IMPLEMENTATION
1. This Special Order implementing Area Closure Restrictions is effective on Saturday, August 31, at 12 P.M. and shall remain in effect until October 15, 2025 or until rescinded, whichever is sooner.
2. Exhibit A, Map, Definitions are attached and incorporated into this ORDER.
Violation of these prohibitions is punishable as a class B misdemeanor, by a fine of not more than $5000.00 for an individual or $10,000.00 for an organization and/or imprisonment of not more than 6 months [Title 16 USC 551, 18 USC 3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581 (b)(7)).
