Hell's Hole

Hell's Hole is 5.5 miles end to end. The Trail makes its way into the Salome Wilderness before dropping down to cross Workman Creek just before the junction with the Boyer Trail #148. The trail then starts to climb steadily before dropping back down sharply via switchbacks where it meets up again with Workman Creek and ends.

General Information

Located on the Pleasent Valley Ranger District. Trail parallels a parcel of private property to the South. Users should respect private property boundaries and remain on trail. 

Year round use although users should always be aware of current conditions. 

No water is available at the trailhead. Workman Creek is a pretty reliable water source. Users should always filter their water before drinking. 

Use of any mechanized or motorized travel is prohibited on this trail. No more than 15 people are allowed to be in a group. No more than 15 head of livestock are allowed in a group. Trail passes through private property; please respect the rights of the property owner, do not trespass, Use of livestock on the trail is discouraged; it can be hazardous to horses and there is nowhere to put them at the end of the trail that does not damage the riparian area.

Rynolds Trailhead located on the West Side of State Route #288 at the pull off for Rynolds Creek Group Campground

Directions

From Young, drive 20 miles south on State Hwy. 288 (unpaved). Site is on the right with signs. From Hwy 188, drive 27 miles north on State Hwy. 288 (partially paved).
