Campaign

Campaign trail is located almost entirely within the Superstition Wilderness. Campaign is very scenic with much less use than the trails in the Western Superstitions. It runs North/South connecting the Reavis Gap trail #117 and the West Pinto trail #212 paralleling Campaign Creek and climbing over the west fork of Pinto Creek.

General Information

Primitive wilderness trail 10.5 Miles in length. Northern start of this trail is near private property. Users should respect the property boundary and follow all official route signage.

Use of any mechanized or motorized travel is prohibited on this trail. No more than 15 people are allowed to be in a group. No more than 15 head of livestock are allowed in a group.

Directions

From the Tonto Basin Ranger District Office take State route #188 East 7 miles to Forest Road #449. Take the 449 road to the 449A road where high clearance 4x4 vehicles will be needed. Follow the 449A road roughly 6 miles to get to the Trailhead. This route drops in and out of washes and users should use caution and know current weather conditions prior to travel.
